Polkadoodles Challenge 17 - Altered Candle

Friday, 30 April 2010

Plan A went to pot, I was going to stamp the candle but I got more wax on my desk!! So Plan B came into force, decorate it. I used papers and flowers from All Around and Everywhere, a Polkadoodles stamp and string. Looks like my candle has shrunk, must be the camera angle.

Thought I’d go fun and silly for this one and used elements from Paper Doll Dress Up and Everyday Paper Dolls, lots of glittery paper and sparklers. My niece loved it. Sorry about the photo, took it in a hurry and the light was rubbish.

Love Sewing

Tuesday, 20 April 2010

I made this card for my Mother-in-Law as she loves sewing, using papers from the 12 x 12 Cosmo Cricket Material Girl kit. I thought the kit was a good idea at the time, but really the designs are a bit big for cards, so the details are lost. I would stick to the smaller sized paper pads next time. The papers are lovely though, so they will get used up.

Polkadoodles Challenge 15 – Animal Magic

Friday, 16 April 2010

I had great fun making this, my farmyard scene. All the papers and animals (plus 1 bird) come from my favourite CD Back to Nature. I took the scene from a couple of angles so you can see the details.

Polkadoodles Fairy Flutterfly Stamps

Wednesday, 14 April 2010

Wow, Nikky has created these gorgeous and funky Fairy Flutterfly stamps. There are 6 sets to choose from, each priced at £6.49 and each set contains 5 or 6 high quality acrylic stamps. What’s so clever, is the fairy and it’s butterfly wings are separate stamps, so you can use the images together or separately. The sets also feature flowers, a sentiment and mini butterflies, toadstool or ladybird.

I’ve created 2 cards, one showing the fairy without wings and one with. I used my chalk inks with a Papermania watercolour blender to colour the fairies.  There seems to be a purple theme running through both cards which was totally unplanned.

Jo and Alex’s Wedding

Tuesday, 13 April 2010

Wow what a fantastic day (9th April) for my niece to get married, Joanna looked beautiful and the weather was gorgeous. The groom looked so handsome too. I made this card for them using the ribbon that was on the invitation. It was the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses and the flowers in the bouquet. I wanted to keep it a simple as possible so just added white plus some embossing for texture. I hope to post a wedding photo soon.

Polkadoodles Challenge 14 - Wedding

Friday, 9 April 2010

I haven't had a wedding for years and now I have three in one year. My niece who was just a few weeks old at our wedding is getting married today (9th) and my friend tomorrow (10th) and my hubbys 2nd cousin in July. Good excuse for some new outfits.

Here’s my card  and it’s a bit different for me, lots of little rose buds around the heart. The rose papers from the Love and Cherish CD were perfect for this card and printed out beautifully. I used my Cricut to cut out the layered hearts.

Cricut Forum UK Thread - Storybook Border

Wednesday, 7 April 2010

Another challenge on the UK thread of the Cricut forum is to use this border. I always find these cuts difficult to use, don’t know why really as they are so pretty. Critical of my own work, I prefer the first card to the second, I love the pink and cream together, lovely soft colours.
