Polkadoodles Challenge 12 – Black, White & a Colour

Friday, 26 March 2010

Seem to be on an orange roll with my last few postings. Nettie set the sketch and theme this week and as I couldn’t decide on a colour, I got my hubby to choose it and he picked orange. I kept lots of white space and added papers and elements from the Candy Doodles CD plus a little Stickles on the butterflies. Shame my camera takes a blurry photo!

Cards for Children

Wednesday, 24 March 2010

I have a new outlet for my cards, the pre-school where my son works. Some of the money from sales will go to help their funds. I don’t get to make children's cards very often so out came the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge. There is so much on there to play with and I’ve just bought Everyday Paper Dolls too, which is also great fun. Aren’t these faces cute and perfect for people like me who can’t draw. They are Dress Ups Faces by Sizzix.

More cart exploration, this time using Walk in my Garden and the Daisy. I went for a large daisy for my card plus some little ones from a Cuttlebug die.

Polkadoodles Challenge 11 – Blue and Brown

Friday, 19 March 2010

Sorry, I couldn't resist, I've made a Christmas card in March!! I love blue on Christmas cards, so when Nikky set the theme of blue and brown it was the first thing that popped in my mind. All the papers and elements come from Jingle Jangles CD, the snowflake was cut with Joys of the Season cart plus a little glitter and silver string. At least I can say, I've started my Christmas cards :)

Happy Mothers Day

Sunday, 14 March 2010

Hope all you Mums are having a great day. I’m making cards so I’m happy :)

Here’s the card I made for my mum. I’ve used some lovely papers that she bought me for Christmas called Chatsworth Vintage Collection by Papermania. They have a lovely linen feel to them.

Polkadoodles Challenge 10 – Special Event

Friday, 12 March 2010

I've got so many special events this year, it was difficult to choose. Just to name a few, 3 weddings, two 21st, an 80th and a 90th birthday and three 25th wedding anniversaries including my own. But I decided to make a 21st birthday card for my niece. I used papers from the Back to Nature CD, some stickles and card candy.

Using up Rub-ons

Tuesday, 9 March 2010

I know it was over a week ago, but I had a great day at Farnborough with my mum, but it was so noisy with the wind. I was very restrained and didn’t spent too much. I bought a paper trimmer, but I wasn’t pleased with it so that went back. A Martha Stewart punch, which is fab, some brads, ribbon, papers and clear stamps.
I saw this technique ages ago in a magazine – how to use up those leftover rub-ons. I used these leftover alphabet rub-ons to create a border strip and I’m pleased with the result and it’s not obvious what they are.

Materials used – A6 white cardblank, Scrap card and paper, Cuttlebug plus leaves dies and Distressed Stripes Embossing folder, Brads and leftover rub-ons.

Polkadoodles Challenge 9 - Wings

Friday, 5 March 2010

Went for a ladybird for my wings project. The papers are from the new Paper Boutique CD and the stamps are from the Daisy Doodles stamp set. I took the inspiration for the ladybird stamping from one of Nikky's papers. Added some beads for the antenna and a googly eye!! I did have fun stamping all the little ladybirds.
